Inherently Stupid

Editor:

Democrats incessantly accuse Republicans of being the "Party of NO" - NO to the Democrats' growth of government to promote their socialist, communist, and totalitarian policies - while they, Democrats, actually display themselves as the "Party of Ignorance" - ignorance of existing Federal laws and total disregard for the Constitution of the United States (case in point being their comments on Arizona's Immigration Law). It is very doubtful that "misguided/misdirected" President Obama even read the 16 or so page Arizona Immigration Law while his appointed officials (Attorney General Holder, Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano, Assistant Secretary of State Crowley, Director of ICE Morton, et al) actually admitted having not read the law even though they are criticizing it as they attempt to insult our intelligence by their blatant failure to enforce existing Federal immigration laws.

There is something intellectually asinine about commenting on any issue without reading the law (re: the 2600 page ObamaCare). This shows a severe lack of intelligence on the part of Obama and his cohorts in, what Glenn Beck has dubbed as, "Crime Inc". It definitely proves that ignorance drives the Democrats' radical spread the wealth socialist agenda.

My question is: Were Democrats born inherently stupid or did they have to fundamentally work at it?

Between a rock

and a hard place

Editor:

I am happy with the Houston County Commissioners' budget draft which includes an 8.8% reduction in the 2010 budget which is said to equal to 2009's increase. If this amounts to the status quo, so be it! Our county schools and libraries have been hit hard by cutbacks and anything more will endanger our quality of life. We are coming out of the recession thanks to the federal TARP and the Stimulus. Any further reductions in county spending and the likely consequent job losses would be counter-productive to our citizens.

Our county taxes have been cut to the bone. County services such as our schools and libraries and anything more in the way of cuts would be a disservice, especially to our neediest citizens and the rest of us. Our libraries are a vital service to our jobless citizens in their searches for employment. Cutting teachers only serves to lower the quality of the education provided and our schoolchildren will suffer needlessly.

Enough is enough!

Losing another

piece of our past

Editor:

An article from the 'San Diego Union Tribune' about the death of every Navy and Marine Corps' Aviation Ordnanceman's hero, John Finn. He was a Navy Chief Aviation Ordnanceman on 7 December1941 and later was commissioned and retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant.

John turned 100 last July and had been the oldest surviving Medal of Honor recipient for years.

He was depicted in the movie "Tora, Tora, Tora" as the Gunner firing @ the attacking aircraft from the flight line...
