Reporters were notified around noon Thursday that the meeting had been called for 2 p.m. Friday. Shortly before the Friday meeting was to have taken place, however, the mayor's office announced it would be changed to 4 p.m. instead. A few minutes later city hall decided to advance the special session to 4 p.m. Monday after someone figured out that the 4 p.m. Friday session whould have violated Georgia Open Meeting laws which require 24-hour advance notice of public meetings.
