Georgia Eagle Media, Inc., says its flagship station, WNNG-AM 1350, will change call letters Monday to WRWR. Simultaneously, Georgia Eagle is launching a new FM radio station, WRWR-FM 107.5, which will be operated from studios in Warner Robins and will simulcast the programming of WRWR-AM 1350. “The new call sign stands for ‘We are Warner Robins’ and embodies our commitment to the community,” said Cecil Staton, president of Georgia Eagle.

Georgia Eagle has begun an expansion of existing facilities just off Watson Blvd on Radio Loop in order to accommodate the addition of the new station as well as a new television station that it plans to launch later this year. The new addition will also provide space for the offices of The Warner Robins Patriot, Warner Robin’s hometown community newspaper, which Georgia Eagle established in August of 2009. The Warner Robins Patriot is published daily on the internet at www.warnerrobinspatriot.com and in print weekly with the largest circulation of any publication in Houston County.

Cecil Staton, president of Georgia Eagle Media, said, “The launch of WRWR-FM 107.5 extends our reach and continues our commitment to become the premier media company in Middle Georgia. In 2010 we expand to offer the four major forms of media in one central location to serve Warner Robins, Centerville, and middle Georgia. As of June, we will have a local television station, AM and FM radio stations, a community newspaper, and an Internet web portal that are all dedicated to serving Warner Robins and Centerville. We are proud to be the only locally-owned media company based in and operated from Warner Robins.”

Staton continued, “WRWR will continue to feature news from the newsroom of The Warner Robins Patriot twice each hour. We are committed to Warner Robins, Centerville, and Houston County. These great communities deserve local media based and operated from Warner Robins.”

Staton announced a further change. “WNNG-FM 99.9 will have a new format effective February 1 as an affiliate of ESPN radio. WNNG-FM will become ESPN 99.9, bringing the only sports talk FM to the mid-state.”
