The rate would result in a surplus of slightly more than $23,000 in the city’s budget, said City Administrator Patrick Eidson, and would help cover a police officer on military leave.
The vote was unanimous from those attending. Council member Cameron Andrews was absent.
In other action, the council:
° Approved $800 for the community-wide Center Market event, which was to be held Thursday evening;
° Adopted an amended Family Leave Policy to align with a federally mandated policy that went into effect earlier this year;
° Considered an Identity Theft policy which is to be voted upon at the council’s work session later this month;
° Approved $4,000 from the general fund to be used for improvements at the public safety training ground on Dunbar Road; and
° Approved moving next month’s regular council meeting from Nov. 3 to Nov. 10. The move was to accommodate Election Day voting at City Hall, said Mayor Harold “Bubba” Edwards.
At the meeting’s onset, Edwards asked for a moment of silence to commemorate the late Donald Walker, the mayor of Warner Robins who died last week.
