Hospice Thrift Shop Open
Hospice programs provide health care for terminally ill patients, or in other words, those who have six months or less to live. Heart of Georgia Hospice is a local non-profit which treats about three-hundred patients every year. In order to raise more money for the program, they opened a thrift shop in Warner Robins.

Located on Watson Boulevard behind Chick-fil-A, the Heart of Georgia Hospice Thrift Shop was filled with patrons this morning. One of them, was caterer Michelle Allen. She learned about the shop when her church began collecting donations.

She says she plans to revisit for more supplies.

Volunteers, and employees of Heart of Georgia Hospice gathered with the Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Chuck Shaheen for the grand opening. Executive Director of Heart of Georgia, Tim Poole, says all profits go back to the patients who can't afford to pay for the services. He adds the shop will also help spread word of the hospice.

The Thrift Shop is now open Tuesday through Saturday from nine til six. And if you would like to donate gently used items, you can call 478-953-5161 or bring them by the shop during the hours of operation.
