Healthy Habits: September 5
Sometimes when trying to cut back on calories or lose weight, skipping breakfast or lunch may seem like an easy fix. In this week's Healthy Habits, Houston Health Care's Registered Dietician, Jen Allie, told me skipping meals can send your body into starvation mode making it crave sugary snacks and food high in carbs.
Jen adds, having a bad day can cause some people to turn towards sweets to try to heal those emotions. She says no amount of dessert or junk food can fix the problem and can instead create one by forming a cycle... making your day worse after feeling guilty about consuming so many calories.
