Man arrested for robberies targeting elderly

A man who robbed a local woman at gunpoint Thursday morning has been arrested.

Kirk Jaburee Solomon, 30, was apprehended this morning after officers of the Warner Robins Police Department responded 133 Holly Street in reference to a robbery.

There they learned that a black male forced his way into a woman's home, robbed her at gunpoint, and then stole her 2001 Lincoln Town Car. The description of the car was given to officers and it was spotted in the area shortly after. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was apprehended later in the backyard of a home on Kensington Circle.

Detectives believe that Solomon is also responsible for the recent string of robberies that have targeted the elderly. He is charged in the following incidents:

August 8, 2011 – 408 Lake Placid Drive – Armed Robbery, Burglary, Theft By Taking Motor Vehicle, & Kidnapping.

August 25, 2011 – 632 American Boulevard – Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery.

August 25, 2011 – 133 Holly Street – Theft By Taking Motor Vehicle, Armed Robbery, Burglary, Possession of a Weapon By a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Crime.

Additional charges are expected for the August 2, 2011 incident at 700 Green Street and the August 10, 2011 incident at 307 Bernard Drive where the residents were robbed at their residences.

Investigators believe the above mentioned incidents are all connected.
