Macon police now believe that the body found outside of an apartment complex is that of Lauren Giddings, who had been missing since last saturday night.

In a press conference Friday, Macon Police Chief Mike Burns believes the dismembered body is that of the Mercer University law student because the body was found so close to her apartment and the amount of time that she had been missing.

The FBI is running DNA tests to determine a positive match. Results are expected sometime next week.
