Robins Air Force Base officials do not plan to hold an open house and air show in 2011 because a major aerial demonstration team is not available.

The Thunderbirds, the Air Force's demonstration team, released its 2011 schedule on Monday without reference to the local installation. The U.S. Navy's Blue Angels, used in some previous base air shows, are also apparently unavailable.

"Robins normally tries to schedule an air show every other year," said base spokesman John Birdsong. "We submit our request for a major air demonstration team such as the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels and the request is reviewed by (Air Force Materiel Command). If we are not selected, we do not pursue an air show for that year."

The base's last air show and open house in 2009 featured The Thunderbirds.
