Yes, the aerobatics will be exhilarating at the April 28-29 Robins Air Force Base open house and air show.

But attendees at the free event won't have to spend all of their time gazing into the heavens. There will be plenty of exhibits on the ground to occupy their time.

In addition to a host of aircraft on static display, open house visitors will have access to a number of interactive and informational opportunities, according to the latest Robins press release.

On hand will be the Museum of Aviation's F-15 cockpit simulator along with the Perry Tennis Association's mobile tennis court. AirGas USA will also have its Lincoln Electric welding truck.

Those will be joined by the 78th Civil Engineer Group's Earth Day Committee, Rolling Thunder Chapter 3, Middle Georgia Mounted Search and Rescue, Houston County Habitat for Humanity, LegalShield, Network 56, Robins Enlisted Spouses Club and many other exhibiters.

Gates will open at 10 a.m. and the flying will begin at 11:30.

The featured attraction will be the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels along with an aerial demonstration by the nation's fifth-generation F-22 fighter. Those will be augmented by a number of aerobatic performances featuring new and vintage aircraft.

Free parking will be available at Anchor Glass, McConnell-Talbert Stadium and the Middle Georgia Regional Airport. Bus shuttles from the parking areas to the Robins flight line are also free.
