Two things. First, it was Senior Night. Two, it was a tuneup for Friday’s Region 1-AAAA tournament.

Both were good for Houston County as it rolled past Peach County 8-1.

The Trojans managed just two hits against three Bears pitcher. Cody Reese pitched the most innings, four and two-thirds, and earned the win. He gave up a hit and a run while walking four and striking out nine. C. Smith worked an inning and a third without giving up a hit – he fanned one – and Jordan McIlwain worked an inning and gave up a hit while striking out two.

Garrett Kline and Clint Wynn had six of the Bears’ 13 hits. Hunt Smith also had two hits as did Kallen Dees.

Justin Jones, Wynn, Scott Daniel, Trent Jones, Dees, Dylan Dunbar and Smith all had RBIs.
