Editor:
I was disappointed listening to Warner Robins Councilman John Williams on WRWR radio last Tuesday afternoon, in that he offered scant empirical data to support his decision regarding the new proposed Warner Robins Police Station location. His best defense seemed to be that the new location in the old Food Max, at the corner of Russell and Kimberly, was a "gift from God" and that the Lord led him to believe this was the best thing to do.
I am very concerned that we have elected members in
city government making decision based on "feelings" they interpret as divine in origin.
I would encourage the Councilman to take a more justifiable, method-based approach to these matters; something tangible
that we all can see, and perhaps vote on.

I wanted to express my gratitude and thanks to representatives of Robins Air Force Base and several public safety agencies and others for their help and involvement in the Houston County March to the Mailbox Census event on Saturday, April 10. The event, held at Nola Brantley Library, included personnel from the 78th SFS and the 78th LRS, Houston County Sheriffs Department, Houston County Fire Department, Warner Robins Police Department and the Centerville Police Department.
Members of the Ocmulgee Squad of the 501st Georgia Garrison were also on hand at the event as Star Wars and Ghostbuster characters. Their participation and that of the Robins Air Force Base and public safety personnel combined for a great event and a magnificent visual display.

Tea partiers part of anarchist movement
Editor:
The Tea Party is made up of mostly anti-government extremists and account for only one out of five Americans.
Most ignore "the racially tinged and hypocritical tenets" of this anarchistic movement. Its followers claim to want smaller government but also they want to keep their federal entitlements such as Medicare and Social Security.
They cannot recognize or realize that the last 30 years of "laissez faire deregulation" that promoted huge inequalities of income and helped cause the recent financial crisis. A second Great Depression was only avoided by the aggressive financial actions of our federal government.
These activists were strangely silent as Mr. Bush started two wars and gave tax cuts to our richest citizens and then with TARP bailed out AIG and the investment banks. President Bush inherited a surplus from Bill Clinton that he wasted and left us with $7.2 Trillion in unfunded debt.
Do these Tea Party activists know that people like most government-run health care benefits? " For example, such as Medicare, the V.A., Tri-Care, and the F.E.H.B. If so, why do they want to "defund, repeal and replace government-run health care"?
The rest of America---82% of us---want to know.
