Hunting season started this past Saturday. We've covered the safety and licensing procedures, now we're doing some shopping. There are a large number of tools you can use while out hunting. We stopped by Chuck's Bait and Tackle in Warner Robins to bring you a list of the absolute necessities.

Here are your hunting must-haves:

1. Camoflauge

First things first, you've got to have your camoflauge.

Wildlife prints and patterns are always in season when you're going hunting.

Deer have keen eyesight, so wearing patterns that break up your outline and allow you to blend in with the nature surrounding you puts you at a major advantage.

2. Orange Reflecive Safety Vests

Orange safety vests are a neccessity. They are required by law and they insure the safety of all hunters.

That neon orange color doesn't appear in nature. It's also extremely bright, almost seeming to glow in the daytime. These attributes help hunters to spot their fellow men and women in the woods.

3. Optical Enhancement Gear

Its a good idea to get your hands on a pair of binoculars. Aside from the scopes and such that are mounted on guns, these also aid hunters in identifying their targets. You never want to shoot first and question later.

4. Attractants and Scent Disguises

There are a number of ways in which hunters draw their prey in. Some use attractants, such as deer urine, that mask their scent and bait deer into thinking a possible mate or foe is near.

Other products help to eliminate human odors, due to the fact that many animals have an intense sense of smell.

There are also a number of instruments that emulate the noises and calls that wild animals make.

5. Blinds

In addition to camo, hunters need clandestine areas to settle and stalk their hunt. These are called blinds. They can be placed on the ground or in trees and are usually adorned with camoflauge.

6. Weapons

Crossbows, modern rifles and handguns (.22-calibur or larger), shotguns (20-gauge or larger), muzzle loaders and primative weapons such as bow and arrows are all allowed for hunting deer and bear this season.
