Warner Robins Mayor Chuck Shaheen appears to be heavily involved in "Tiregate". In a farcical attempt to remove hundreds of tires from a former gas station on Commercial Circle that had been condemned, the city council voted to pay $3000 to a Mr. Resendez to get rid of them. Unfortunately, he did not have a valid license to do such. So he was now out but he had sold some of them already to two folks, one of whom cannot be located.
So the city used its employees to remove the tires to trucks owned by private contractors. Then some of these tires showed up on city property in a felony case of illegal dumping allegedly by Mr. Resendez. Mayor Shaheen has (allegedly) chosen not to prosecute Mr. Resendez or sign a waiver of prosecution (saying) it's the job of the police chief.
Mayor Shaheen needs to be a decisive, well-informed leader. If he cannot do better in such a simple situation as in our "Tiregate" farce then G-RAMP should be a goner at $72 million.
